Mary was born and raised in Middletown, Connecticut and as far back as she can remember there was never a doubt that her future would include being an artist.

She graduated with honors from Paier School of Art in Hamden, Connecticut in 1974, majoring in illustration and received a 5th year scholarship to perfect her portfolio.  At Paier, Mary was afforded the opportunity to learn from such brilliant artists as Ken Davies, Rudolph and Jean Zallinger and Dean Keller Sr.

As a free lance illustrator Mary's extensive client list includes Connecticut Magazine, McCalls Magazine, Scholastic Books, Weekly Reader, Xerox Corporation and Hamilton Beach to name a few.  Her work is in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States, including the National Archives in Washington D.C., where her portrait of President Jimmy Carter now hangs.

In 2000, reaching a turning point in her Spiritual Quest, Mary decided to change direction and combine her skills as an illustrator with her love of painting, which gave new meaning to her work.  "I wanted my work to stir the viewer's imagination as well as their emotions.  I want to demonstrate the power of Spirituality in Art while displaying the inner glow and illumination of all my subjects.  This is a challenge as well as an exciting new adventure."\

Hunter Editions in Kennebunk, Maine has just completed three (in a series of twelve) Limited Edition Giclee Prints of Mary's "Guardian Angels."  Their skill and complete attention to detail have made these reproductions as inspiring as the original paintings.

Mary and her Great Dane, Astro Starr, live with their family in Cromwell, Connecticut.
